Description

The Science of Legislation was written by Filangieri starting from 1774 and published in Naples in the first edition between 1780 and 1788. Due to its contents of an Enlightenment nature, it was included in the Index of prohibited books since 1784. The one we present is a Genoese edition linked to the new political climate triggered by the French Revolution. Beautiful portrait of the author on the frontispiece of the first volume
